Carlos Ulloa lives here in Santa Rosa California (95409) and I met through a phone call about his iPod Touch.
This was one of those phone calls I get from time to time... Someone has tried to repair their iPod and it didn't work out and now they need help. This type of call comes in three forms...

1) "Will you sell me the part.... that I need again... because I damaged the new one?".
2) "Will you sell me the additional part I damaged while trying to install the new one?"
3) "My god I was out of my depth, will you repair my repair... please??"

Carlos called with question type two. I don't sell parts to people because I want to make sure they are installed and used correctly without destruction. I mentioned this to him and he "got it".

We set a time for him to bring it by the next day so I could rebuild his 32GB Touch 3rd Gen. He mentioned the part he had damaged trying to change the broken upper glass was the LCD screen. To encourage him to have me do it, I told him I would "gift" him the part if needed.

That in essence would save him $30. He left the collection of parts off and it took me an hour to re-build the device to work as new.

The first photo shows how he broke the LCD trying to repair the Touch. The second photo shows it repaired and running properly. The third photo is the happy Carlos shot.

Total cost to get his $400 back working again perfectly was $60

Fixed - Total cost $60.
