Becky Hernandez called from the Austin, Texas area.
Her Mini needed two things, she wanted the songs extracted from her iPod and she wanted the battery replaced in it.

She sent it in from Round Rock, Texas.

The songs were extracted and placed in a folder on her iPod called "add_to_library" and I sent instructions on how to add them to hers and anyone elses iTunes Library she cared to add them to permanently.

The battery transplant went well.

Fixed - Total cost $50.

Jennifer Bassett wrote an email from Las Vegas, Nevada that read
>> I have a video ipod and I had it in my purse last saturday and a bottle
>> of water opened up inside of the purse. So my ipod has not been working
>> for a week. Do you think you can repair it? Currently it is prompting
>> me to go to the apple site and saying that the battery is very low. If
>> you think this can be repaired please send me an Iambulance. When I
>> return the box with the ipod in it to you I need to include a 40$ money
>> order correct? And this covers return shipping and handling right?"

I actually called her rather than reply by email. The iAmbulance solution is not fast enough to get the device here for me have a good success rate. That method adds 11 days to the delivery here so I called and gave her my standard instructions, use a padded mailer or plastic bubble envelope and use 5 stamps on the front.

It arrives a couple of days later and I had open cleaned up up and working later that day. The hard drive in it had failed completely so it needed to be replaced but I got the rest working.

The drive was $60 (which she sent in by PayPal) and the labor/return shipping was $40 so the total repair was $100

Nick Arjotti called me from Las Vegas, Nevada.
He had two ipod that had been water immersed and wanted to send them into me. One was a 20GB 4th Gen model and the other was 5th Generation video iPod.

He sent them in sent payment by PayPal for the 80 dollars to have me try to restore them to usefulness.

The video iPod had a failed logic *and* failed hard drive. With those two gone it wasn't worth repairing.

I was able to get the 4th Gen to work but it needed a battery so I called Nick and told him the result. Rather than have me refund the $20 for failed attempt at repairing the video model we applied $15 from that refund for a battery in the 4th Gen.

I sent him back a $5 refund and his working 4th Gen model.

Fixed - Total cost $75.
