Candy Spring called from Windsor, California
on December 6th about her Black 5th Gen video iPod. It wasn't holding a charge beyond an hour or so. I gave a quick on the phone tutorial about the Lithium battery in her iPod and she brought it in later that day.

The battery was $19 and labor was $40

Fixed - Total cost $59.

Beverley Bowman called me from her work in San Francisco, California
... a few times. SHe actually lives in Rio Vista and was trying to set up a time to drive up. It actually took a week to come up with a time when she would commit to leave work early and make the 90 minute drive. I tried to encourage her to send it in. I could get the work done and it would be back in her hands at home in 5 days.

On Wednesday December 10th she left work at 3:30pm and was able because of commute traffic to get here at 5:30pm. What she needed replaced was the headphone jack/hold lock switch and while she was here the battery in her son's 5th Gen video iPod.

I had the work done in less than an hour and she and a friend in the area went to a restaurant I recommend in the area called "Rosso" for dinner before she made the 90 minute trip back to her home near Fairfield. I recommend that restaurant specifically because they are a "Fresh and Local" style place. All the ingredients they are made/grown basically 20 miles of the restaurant. It is at the front of a new food movement that my wife and I are also part of.

The battery was $18, the headphone jack was $28 and labor was $40

Fixed - Total cost $86.

Jennifer Cortez called from Sacramento, California
to discuss the problem, she was having with her 5th Generation video iPod. The White 30GB model had a problem we've heard before. There was hearing from the left side earbud only.

The cause of this is dropping the iPod with the earbuds plugged in and driving the plug far enough that it destroys the right side positive contact in the jack permanently.

The part cost her $35 and labor/return shipping was $40

Fixed - Total cost $75.
