Rickie Van Berkum called me from Huson, Montana.
He had dropped his 5th Gen 30GB video iPod in a puddle and wanted to know, (was desperately hoping) I could fix it.

A day after it arrived I had working again and sent it back.

The total cost to get his dead iPod back to life *with* all of his music still on it was $40.... just $40 after thinking it was hopeless when he sent it in.

Fixed - Total cost $40.

David Luckoff lives in Petaluma, California
and remarkably proud of doctorate in psychology. His out bound message identifies himself this way, "David Lukoff, PhD - Professor of Psychology, Institute of Transpersonal Psychology, Founder, Spiritual Competency Resource Center" The website for his work is http://www.spiritualcompetency.com/

He sent a 5th Gen video iPod in with a check for $40 to have me analyze why it wasn't working correctly. The symptom was the battery wasn't holding a charge... *at all*.

In fact the battery had been over-charged so many times that it's chemistry has unbound and it could hold a charge any more. You should read my article on iPod batteries and how to charge and treat them here: http://www.isickbay.com/battery_replacement.shtml

The new battery was $19 and labor/return shipping was $40. All the songs all on the iPod and it works perfectly.

Fixed - Total cost $59.

Raymond Lacerda's girlfriend Catelyn opened her car door one day and her iPod dropped out
hitting the ground. When it did the casing opened up on her 5th Gen video iPod and tore the head phone jack cable from the force of the headphone plug hitting. They live in San Rafael but stopped by their way back from breakfast at "The River Inn" in Guerneville on a Sunday morning.

The iPod had been in a drawer for the past two months before they brought it to me. The headphone jack had to replaced and we also replaced the battery because it was practical to do while I had it open and the battery was now three years old.

The battery was $19, the headphone jack was $28 and labor was $40. Works perfectly now, This is Ray, Catelyn was too sheepish to come back with Ray to pick it up.... deep guilt at having broken it in the first place.

Fixed - Total cost $87.
