People call me all the time from all over.
Sometimes it's South Korea, other times its... Tehran, Iran In late 2008 I got a call from Howard Rabotnick who lives in Commerce Township, Michigan. He "got" everything I was saying and I followed it up with a summary of our conversation that I sent by email so there was nothing he would overlook in getting it to me. I always emphasis that time is critical factor, the sooner I get it the more likely I am to be able to get it fixed.
Five months later I got an email from him that read,
"We spoke a few weeks ago. I have an Ipod Touch that went through the wash. I want to send to you for repair."
As I've said it was a few months, not weeks but I had him send in his Touch 1st Gen so I could work on it for him. It arrived completely dead I was able to get it all working perfectly and keep all of his files, music, photos, videos, apps intact.
I have a 90% success rate at fixing iPod Touch 1st Gen that have been put through the washer. It cost him $60 to get his iPod back working perfectly.
When he received it and had used it for a day he sent me this massage,
"Hey Frank:
YOU ROCK!!!!!
Add me to the list of satisfied customers..... I mean "believers"!

got enough of an understanding of me and my work that he elected to send his iPod with no conversation or advance email. I got an email from him that read,
"Hi,
Just wanted to let you know I will be sending my silver Ipod Mini to you tomorrow 4/8. It works great but only holds a charge for around 45 minutes so can you replace the battery? I enclosed a check for $50 which should cover labor/parts according to your website. Please email me when you receive it. Shouldn't be too long since I don't live very far from Santa Rosa. Thank you in advance for your time and service."
It arrived a day or tow later and I had the battery replaced by the end of the afternoon. It was on the way back to him the next morning. Total cost $50
Fixed - Total cost $50.

Sandy Moore lives here in Santa Rosa, California.
Her daughter is the proud owner of a Blackberry 8310 in Cinnamon Red. At some point recently the trackball controller stopped moving as freely as it had when brand new. Sandy suggested it *might* be similar to the trackball in her computer mouse. That lead the daughter to try to dismember it from the front which is a bad approach. Past a certain point the all the pieces that make the trackball work (about 15) explore from the holder, drop to the floor and roll away.
That was what happened, when the chrome ring came off and she pried things up and apart leaving a big hole where the trackball had been. Sandy drove around with the phone intending to bring it to me for nearly 3 weeks. Her original message describing the problem read like this,
"Do you repair GPS navigation systems and Blackberry cell phones?
The touch screen in my Magellan Roadmate GPS has a cracked (more like shattered) touch screen. It was in my checked-in luggage at the airport. I was able to turn it on and it seemed to load fine even after a couple days. However I just tried to turn it on again but I think it may need charging. However I will wait to hear from you, in case it's not good to charge while its broken.
About cell phone repair..my 18 year old daughter has a Blackberry Curve that had a sticking trackball that was randomly not working, so she tried to remove it..thinking it was like a computer mouse ball. Well, she got the ball out, but it came apart in several microscopic pieces, so we figure we need a new trackball since she tried to put the pieces back together with no success."
I was able to source and install a new trackball for her. The Blackberry 8310 works perfectly now. The part was $10 and labor was $60
Fixed - Total cost $70.
