Brian Blackburn lives here in Santa Rosa.
Somehow his video iPod was dropped and his hard drive stopped working. Like many people he really didn't know the specifics of the problem or how to fix it so he went to the Apple Store here in town.. yesterday. He got there, there wasn't much going on, and ultimately he was greeted by an employee. Brian handed him the iPod and the guy put his hands up saying he couldn't do this now, but was prepared to make an appointment with him to see Brian and his iPod 3 hours later. Brian asked "What should I do for the next three hours, while I'm waiting for you guys to work through what appears to be an empty store?" He didn't get a good answer so he made an appointment for the next day... which was today December 8th 2007. He got there and his iPod was looked at for a moment and then examined behind "the wall". Not too long later the person re-emerged and explained his hard needed to be replaced, then tried to push him into trading his iPod in for a $25 discount on a new one.

This iPod belongs to Brian's son actually and selling to to Apple for $25 wasn't on the menu today. As Brian was leaving one of the other Apple sales people came up to him and told Brian about my website.

Brian went home and checked out the site, then gave a call.. all within 40 minutes of leaving the Apple store. It took Brian 15 minutes to get here. He left it with me, I replaced the hard drive and he was back to pick it in 45 minutes. ALL ON THE SAME DAY, with no appointment.

The drive was $70 and labor was $40. He spent $110 to get his iPod back working rather than having to buy a new $250 iPod for his son.

Here is Brian..

Fixed - Total cost..$110.

Tom Lenny lives here in Santa Rosa.
On December 7th 2007 he called and needed his to have his headphone jack/wire harness replaced in his Video iPod. He found me using the internet, searching for "ipod Repair" "santa rosa".

Tom came and dropped his ipod off and came back an hour later when I had it finished.

It was a $75 repair... and he got his iPod back *with* all of his music intact on his own iPod (not a pre-repaired/refurbished on).

Fixed - Total cost $75.

Vicki Boschert from Troy, Missouri
put her son's iPod through the washer. This happens all the time and I feel for each household I hear about this happening to. The kid's think Mom will got through the pockets and the parent can't imagine they would leave something as small and valuable as their iPod for this to happen to.

She sent it in and I went to work on it.

In her case it required replacing the logic board at $100 plus the $40 labor/return shipping but she's out from under the guilt of the thing.

Fixed - Total cost..$140.
