Helen Jones of Brattleboro, Vermont
found me somehow, I think it was Google search. Her 6th Generation video iPod now called a Classic had a broken LCD screen. She called to get a price and time frame on the repair.
About three weeks later it arrived. You can tell from the front that it took a hit at the bottom right side of the screen.
Apple has made it far harder to get this model open than its predecessor models so it actually takes a couple tools I've created to effectively open this without doing too much damage to the backplate. I am convinced Apple is doing what they to make it harder to repair newer models without damaging them.
Anyway, I got it fixed, looks great.. no damage to the backplate.
Cost was $41 for the LCD and $40 labor/return shipping.
Fixed - Total cost..$81.

Ryan Travers called to discuss the chances of getting his 3rd Generation Nano working again.
This was another case of "it went into the washing machine".
He sent it in from Palmdale, California and it took me several days to get it working again. It was a very
unusual and difficult case where the water destroyed the LCD and initially I couldn't get a new LCD to work with it.
Ryan had also set the clickwheel so it made no sound in use so I wasn't able to determine while the device was
headless (without a working LCD) if it was working at all.
I was finally able to get a new LCD screen to work with it. All of Ryan's Music and Photos were intact.
I had it here a week working on it, which is rather lengthy for my work. At one point I thought I would not
be able to get it working again, but didn't give up.

Benicio Suarez works for Unisys
(a computer firm that operates in the banking industry) and is a repeat client. He
sent in 3
iPods for me to repair before last year
which I took care of for him. This time he sent his daughter's Red 3rd Gen Nano iPod in from Pleasanton, California because it had gone through the washing machine. (This happens more frequently than you can imagine).
It arrived along with a check for $40 on March 13th and I had it working again that day and sent it back again to the next day.
Her iPod works perfectly and all of her songs were saved. Looks great!!
Fixed - Total cost..$40.
