I dropped my iPod in water! Can you fix it?
Clarita lives not too far from here, she called saying she had a problem with her iPod and the problem was that it had been dropped in water. She had read the story about the real estate developer friend of mine whose daughters I had fixed. She sent it in and decided to pay when I figured out if I could fix it or not. Her's was also a Mini. I opened it up and discovered the photos below. When I contacted her all explained all the contacts had become corroded. At that point she explained that she had dropped in a fluid about 14 months earlier and had gone to the Apple Store to get 'evaluation' about what it would cost to fix. They explained they would give her 10% on a new iPod, in essence giving her a $30 bill for the device she had paid over three hundred for a few months earlier. She couldn't see that kind of sacrifice and went home and put it in drawer for 14 months wondering what she would do with it. That 14 months cost the opportunity to get it working again.

In another case Patrick in San Francisco got a hold of me... again late about 2 weeks after he dumped it in snow while boarding. It didn't work at all once he got in off the hill and he let a day or two pass wondering what he would do. He got a hair blow dryer and used it heat the external surface of his Video iPod. What this really did was turn the moisture inside to a vapor and evenly deposit inside the iPod. When there was no noticeable results he turned the heat and melted the faceplate and hold button assemblies at the top of his video iPod. That still didn't work and he waited another week before sending it to me. All that time

So what I need to make clear... in a water immersion case, getting it to an expert to correct the problem right away. Contact me right away.

I only charge $40 for a standard model or $60 for a iPod Touch to restore your iPod though it may take hours to pull it off. My friends all know I like a 'realistic' challenge.

As of July 20th 2010 I am 2730 successes and 381 fatalities at iPods and iPhones "dropped in water", put "through the washing machine", "went into the hot tub", "forgot I was using it and went in the pool with it on", "bent over a pot of soup and it slipped out of my pocket" (chef), "got doused in chloraseptic", "my bottle of sparkling water blew up in my gym bag", "my daughter dropped it in the toilet" problems. Call me to discuss what has happened to yours..... I'll bet I've heard it before and have brought an iPod back from that disaster.

Even when I can't fix it, people appreciate what I do

This is a message that one of my customers sent. I wasn't able to fix his iPod. He lost it in a raging river after a big storm while bunny hopping rocks in the river on his Mountain Bike to get across. Three weeks later he found it at the bottom of the now subsided river.

" Hi,

I sent you my waterlogged Ipod back in October. It had been laying on the bottom of a river for three weeks, the result of a bike crash.

Even though you weren't able to salvage it (I think you said it had three or four fatal errors), I just wanted to say that the $40 that I spent to see if it was at all repairable was probably the best $40 I spent last year. It answered all of the questions of "What if it can be repaired or the data recovered" and the answers were provided by someone who knew what they were doing. It wasn't me fumbling around trying to pry open the ipod and figuring out what to do next. Getting the ipod pieces back with the $20 bill was just an added bonus.

I'm not sure how many people thank you when you can't repair an iPod, but I wanted to say that I was glad I found your website on the internet. Hopefully I don't need your services again, but if I do, I'll definitely be a repeat customer.

Just an FYI...Over the holidays, my brother-in-law mentioned that his iPod has a cracked LCD screen, and I passed your contact information on to him with my endorsement.
