Evleyn Castro from Whittier, California sent her water immersed iPod.
Unfortunately, it was a Nano 1st Gen which isn't worth fixing under most circumstances. I write about it being one of Apple's Worst products here. In Evelyn's case there was no way to make the device work again so all of that model's design problems never came into being. She used PayPal to send the $40 in and I refunded her back $20.

Jack Stone sent his iPod 2nd Gen in from San Francisco, California
with four $20 bills to get his LCD screen replaced. It arrived on November 22nd 2008 and I had the repair finished the same day and it was sent back on Sunday the 23rd.

The LCD was $27 and labor return shipping was $40. It went back with $13 in change also paid in currency.

Fixed - Total cost $67.

Paul Beauchamp called me one day from Costa Mesa, California
which happens to be where my namesake "Uncle Frank" who is Dr. Francis Crinella lives. My uncle teaches at UC Irvine and Paul works within the auto industry as an expert witness related to automotive fire cases through his business Jasich and Beauchamp Fire Analysis.

Paul has a 32GB iPod touch that had been dropped in water and was completely DEAD. I was able to get it working again, with the battery holding a charge and the battery re-charge circuits working. The touch screen displayed information and was able to be used to navigate. There was one odd thing which was the screen had a blue tint which may have been a color scheme Paul had chosen. I don't use a Touch so I don't know the intricacies of its set up.

The total cost to get his $400 iPod back working was just $60 and that included return shipping.

Fixed - Total cost $60.
