Bob Babcock called me one day from Cameron Park, (near Sacramento) California
one day. The scroll wheel in his iPod Mini has stopped working... the Pause/Play button. It arrived a few days later and opened the device up and checked the connections then reseated everything. The scroll worked correctly after that. Something must have jostled loose.

At that point Bob and I spoke again and this time (since I knew I had the device working) I suggested a new battery might be the right thing to do.

He agreed and PayPal'd in the $10 for it.

The battery was $10 and labor/return shipping was $40

Fixed - Total cost $50.

Marty Nguyen called me off and on from Vacaville, California
with a plan to drive over and have me replace the LCD on his iPod. Over a 2 1/2 week period, a couple of times he would set something up and then not show up. Finally I told him to send it in, because ti would have done weeks ago if he had.

He finally did and it arrived requiring me just ME to sign for it.... and insured. So what we really had was a kind of Post Office trust problem going on.

It arrived on Thursday December 11th and it was on the way back to him fixed on December 12th. I'll bet the iPod arrived on the same day the postal signature got back to him.

The LCD was $33 and labor/return shipping was $40

Fixed - Total cost $73.

I got a call from Scott Wardell who is a paramedic student in Saratoga, California
about his iPod Touch. This is a fairly large device but he "washed it by accident in the washing machine" during the first week of December. He wanted to find out when "too late" was to contemplate me taking it apart to repair.

The Touch models are really complex so I charge $60 to work on them. I sent him instructions on how to send it and he sent it in arriving a few days later with a note that read, "I pray that you are able to fix it."

Scott must live in a state of grace, I was able to get his Touch working completely.

Scott's Total cost for total happiness again.....$60

Fixed - Total cost $60.
