Ben Daughdrill called from Oakley, California
one morning, which is about 90 miles from here. He discovered me on Craigslist and chatted about his problem.
His 5th Generation video iPod had been dismantled and and now part of things weren't working correctly. The most obvious part was the LCD which would show a white background but no data would paint to the screen.
It arrived here a few days later with a check for $40 and I took apart and tested things then put it all back together again correctly.
Now it works perfectly and it needed no added parts. Remember to Ben's way of looking
at it, this iPod was a lost cause that he never thought would work again and now for
$40 he got it back working again.
Fixed - Total cost $40.

Hannah Aztlan sent her iPod into me from Chicago, Illinois
stating, "About a week ago, I made the mistake of trying to plug my iPod into my iHome that was next to a full bathtub. The iPod slipped from my hands and completely submerged itself in water. I pulled it out immediately and dried it off, letting it sit for a couple of days, but to my dismay, it will not turn back on. I'm hoping you would be able to fix it because even though I can afford a new iPod, I don't want to pay $250 as a product of my stupidity at the moment."
I took it apart and cleaned everything up. I was able to get everything working in it except the hard drive and gave Hannah call to tell her.
She was actually quite pleased I got it working and asked me to send a PayPal request for funds for the needed $60.
She paid it with in minutes and the iPod was on it's way back to Chicago later that day.
Total cost was $60 the drive and $40 for the labor/return shipping.
Fixed - Total cost $100.

Shelly Hinson called from her work at the US Coast Guard training center
out on Two Rock Road in Petaluma, California. It's a base that does advanced training for people in the Coast Guard based on 22 Military Occupational Specialties. The screen in her 5th Generation video iPod was broken and she needed it replaced.
The screen was $33 and labor was $40 which PayPal'd in.
I shipped it back to her home in Novato California so it was there waiting when she got home.
Fixed - Total cost $73.
