I got an email from Jan Stansfield at a bit past 9pm on a Saturday. she lives here in Santa Rosa and the message read,
"I dropped my i pad 2 ...it works, but the glass is shattered...how soon could you fix it for me? Thanks...jan"
I replied back that I could do it at noon on Sunday. I start work at noon on Saturday and Sunday because I try to check in on the music scene in San Francisco on Friday and Saturday nights. Well, more specifically the dance music scene, I am someone that is a Kandi Raver and and I go to club raves most weekends. Hip Hop is dead and EDM is its replacement.
Jan brought her iPad at about half past twelve and I could see the how she dropped it and crushed the upper left corner. For the record the "most likely point of impact' for an iPad is the upper right corner followed by the upper left corner".
Her hit was the upper left corner and it dented the backplate so a new upper glass/digitizer wouldn't fit in the new shape. I remedy this by grinding away the part of the aluminum backplate that incurs where the glass has to go.
Two hours later I had her iPad ready again. Notice how little you are able to see where I had to "reshape" the back plate.
The total cost to get her iPad back, glass shard free was $108. I have happy customers like this all around the Bay Area, California and and as a far East as Illinois.
