Eddie Ramos stopped by here on day with a previous client of mine. He lives in Calistoga California (94515) and needed the front screen of an iPhone 4 replaced.
This was an original i4 so it's the GSM/ATT model. At the moment he arrived I was out of the Black front for that model phone but I did have a White and many people are having me "flip" the color of their phone. The Home Key color remains te same so in Eddie's case the phone would have a White Front and Black Home Key.
No doubt about it, this a sick looking phone. The total cost for the repair and color Flip was just $79 and took and hour.
Suzie Goodwill lives in Napa California (94558). Her Grandson's iPod Touch 4th Gen (the one with the cameras front and rear) was dropped and it delivered a 'white out' screen as it broke.
The white out is typically the result of one or more resistors breaking away on the LCD's ribbon connection. These drive the "data paint" on the screen.
Also in this case we can see a "bleed" where something has dropped on the screen too. That Black splotch is from the thin upper glass breaking and punturing the Liquid Crystal laeyers below it.
Replacing the smashed display assembly in a Touch 4th Gen takes about an hour and 15 minutes. This repair replaces all aspects of the Touch interactive display assembly. The upper glass, the digitizer and LCD are glued together creating one seriouly expensive part.
The total cost of the repair is $79, which is parts/tax/labor and return shipping. When you live out of the area, I cover return shipping costs of the device back to you.
