Laura Chiriboga works at the Higher Education Division as an Editorial Coordinator at McGraw Hill in San Francisco California (94105).
She dropped something on her Silver 8Gb Nano 3rd gen IPod and broke the LCD screen. She sent it in and I had the repair finished with the ipod back on the way before she ever really missed it.

The LCD was $22 and labor/return shipping was $40

Fixed - Total cost $62.

Jim Veasaw called me one night from Chanhassen Minnesota (55317) about his 3rg Gen 32GB iPod Touch.
He had dropped it in the washing machine for a few seconds a night or two before. He pulled it out of the water and tried to turn it off.... which of course didn't work. People think "turning it on" after immersion is the bad thing. It has nothing to do with how the device is damaged inside. The fact is once water is in it... the device is "shorted on". He wasn't able to turn it off.. because it remained 'shorted on'.

He tried the grain immersion technique, that didn't work.

The three criteria that make a successful "save" prove to be....

1) what liquid type

2) how long ago it occurred

3) how well charged was the battery at the time of the incident

Then he found me on the internet. The iPod arrived a few days later and I was able to get it working again.

Fixed - Total cost $60.
