Anthony Chaumont from Fort Worth
has had me fix his iPod for him as it needs repairs over the past two years. He travels to and from Asia as a product of a candle factory he is involved with there.
This time he needed the battery in his video iPod replaced and because the faceplate was scratched he asked for a new one to put on also.
The repairs were done in a day and at a total cost of $75.
Fixed - Total cost..$75.

Terry Marcellino of Santa Monica, California
sent in an iPod given her by a friend that had no scroll wheel activity. She naturally thought it required the scroll wheel to be replaced. I mentioned to her that in 200 cases of scroll wheel failure, just one was actually the result of the application specific integrated circuit failing on the video iPod scroll wheel ribbon controller. Every other case was the result of water immersion, with corrosion pooling on the upper left quadrant of the front of the logic board.
She sent it in. Below are the shots showing the water problem exactly the way I imagined it would look.
She needed the logic board replaced and all the other parts seemed to work just fine.
Total cost to her was $90 for the logic board and $40 labor return shipping.
Fixed - Total cost $130.

Paul Oliver of Buffalo, New York sent in his Nano 2nd Gen
in with a check for $40. It was a water immersion case. I took it apart but was not able to bring it back to life.
The scroll wheel and outer case worked, so did the LCD. He requested I send it back in parts so his friend could try to aggregate two non-working iPods into one that did work.
Most of the time when I've heard that, the client doesn't know how different each model and generation is from one another.
I sent the iPod back with a $20 bill.
