Jon Flores called me from Covina, California,
to talk about his son Max's Black 30GB 5th Gen video iPod which he took into the swimming pool with him.
I explained you never know how these things will turn out but he should send it in and keep his fingers crossed.
It arrived a few days later in completely non-working condition. I went through my
patent pending water immersion survival process and slowly was able to get each part to work for him again.
Works perfectly
Fixed - Total cost $40.

Marie Delaune phoned me from Virginia Beach, Virgina about her daughter Emily's 8GB iTouch
iPod which Emily had dropped into the swimming pool. This is pretty frequent thing in summer.
It arrived a few days later and in sorry shape. I've got a few images here of it showing the condition.
I worked at it off and on for three days and finally got it all working for her.
The total cost to bring her birthday present back to complete utility and working perfectly was $40
A complete success and I found I have another adoring fan.
Fixed - Total cost $40.

Jim Glass called from Livermore, California
to discuss the problem he was having with his 5th Gen 60GB video iPod.
The problem was his select button wouldn't work any longer. I listened further to his story and left with the impression the problem centered on the rubber pad that is supposed to exist beneath the select button.
The rubber pad sometimes shifts allowing the select button to be more depressed than it is flush with the faceplate top. Other times the rubber pad just compresses permanently and allows the button top to remain depressed or rotated and held in the pressed position.
When it arrived I discovered it was just what I had thought it was and replaced the rubber pad. The select button worked perfectly again. In order to see this menu on his iPod the Select button has to be used several times.
Total cost was the $40 labor/return shipping fee.
Fixed - Total cost $40.
