Willy Van Reit called from Sebastopol, California
to check and see if I was able to repair his son's iPod that had hearing from just the left earbud only.
I told him I knew what the problem was and to bring it in.
I replaced the headphone wire harness and things were fine again. This saved him some hardship because they were going on a family trip and having it to occupy his son was going to be critical.
His son interestingly had named his iPod after the poet/writer who lived in Oakland Charles Buckowski.
Fixed - Total cost..$75.

Christina Thanasoulas and her friend Rehema called from Oakland, California
and came up to get her iPod repaired.
She had a smashed LCD in her 5th Generation video iPod and had been without for 5 months because she knew it would be too expensive to have Apple fix... and then she found me through a Google search.
They drove up (70 miles) on a Sunday and got here at 2:30. I was able to get her repair finished by 3:15 so they could beat traffic back to the East Bay.
While I was replacing her LCD, I noticed she had one of the original 5th Gen models that was 2 years old and it was likely her battery pretty weak in terms of holding a good charge so I suggested this might be the best time to change it. She agreed.
The battery was $23, the LCD was $33 and labor was $40.
Here they are when they picked it up, happy, happy.
Fixed - Total cost $96.

Robert Marcho sent his iPod in from Abilene, Texas.
He had determined his 4th Gen 20GB needed it's scroll wheel replaced and called me to make sure he was right.
I agreed and he sent it in with a check for $60 to cover the scroll wheel, labor and return shipping.
Here it is working just the way it should be.
Fixed - Total cost..$60.
