Jovan Mrvos called me again.
He works in New York City at the firm of Barst and Mukamal at 2 Park Ave. He lost the hearing in the right side of his 5th Gen video iPod. We all know the cause of this to be dropping the iPod with the earbuds plugged in. This drive the plug far enough into the jack that it permanently destroys the right side positive contact in the jack.
The new jack was $35 and labor with return shipping was $40.
In Jovan's case I also took the iPod apart and re-seated all the switched
and switch covers and then replaced his chrome backplate with a brand new
shiny one. All at no extra charge.
Fixed - Total cost $75.

Ginger Fuller called me Moulton, Alabama after finding me doing a Google search.
She lives in Moulton Alabama and did her laundry with her 3rd Generation Nano iPod still in her pocket. This is pretty standard stuff for me. I get about 6 Nano 3rd Gen's that have been put through the washing machine a week. I am able to get working 7 out of 8 them. some need an LCD because of the way Apple has chosen to connect the battery and the LCD.
Ginger's I was able to get working completely but hers did require a new LCD. The backlight positive connection had corroded away.
The LCD was $33 and labor/return shipping was $40
Another survivor.
Fixed - Total cost $73.

Dominic Tarrentino called from here in Santa Rosa.
His video iPod had a broken LCD screen from a smash point. He thought it was a 5th Gen but when he got here it was actually a 6th Generation iPod.
I had the screen replaced for him 90 minutes later and he was pretty amazed that there was a place other than Apple that did this. Then he wanted to know what else I had been fixing. So I mentioned the cell phones, cameras, PSP's and laptops.
The LCD screen was $41 and labor was $40
Fixed - Total cost $81.
