Zorah Boyer sent in his iPod from Campus Housing in Fort Meyers, Florida

where he's a student. His is a 60GB video iPod and he needed the headphone wire harness replaced so he could hear in stereo again.
Wisely he decided teo get the battery replaced, "as long as it's open and the labor is paid for". While any iPod is being worked on already is the right time to replace the battery.
The device arrived on January 11th 2008 and it was finished and shipped back again the same day.
It cost him $35 for the headphone wire harness, $23 for the battery and $40 labor/return shipping.
Fixed - Total cost..$98.

Andreas Bosch noticed an ad I was running on Craigslist
This was a strange case. Andreas Bosch noticed an ad I was running on Craigslist and sent in his Nano 1st Generation model that was disassembled along with some extra parts he bought for it along the way.
The note reads that he was attempting to restore it to a newer condition when he got the newer ones as replacements.
As it happened it was un-repairable. Here is the message I had to send to him.
"You broke or removed the ribbon connector locking lever for the LCD. The LCD ribbon connector therefore can never cinched down to make a proper connection rendering the logic board useless
It is something that befalls many iPod enthusiast repair people.
Being completely honest with you, considering what I'm looking at I don't think the scroll wheel will work again either and there some adhesive on the LCD that may have been in the plastic you sent it in.
Under the circumstances, I would follow the link on my website that reads, "How to select a used iPod" and shop for a Nano 2nd Gen model. They are much better than the first Gen Nano.
The way to deal with a scratched surface on the Nano would have been to polish it with fine metal polish."
I sent back the parts along with a refund in cash of $20
