Sam Bulleit sent in his Red Nano 3rd Generation from Greenville, Indiana.
He found me on the internet using "iPod dropped in water" and figured I was the guy to fix his water immersed unit.
I am able to get 7 out of 8 water immersed Nano 3rd Gen's working but 3 out of those 7 need to have their LCd replaced. Sam was on of those three but I got it working again perfectly.
The LCD was $33 and labor/return shipping was $40
Fixed - Total cost $73.

William Swan called me from Petaluma, California
where he works as an investigator for the US Coast Guard. I know what you are thinking, "Is in some capacity, some type of NCIS investigator?". It turns out the Coast Guard has more investigatory authority than the Navy has because the Coast Guard has been folded into the Homeland Security Department. In his case, he finds himself investigating environmental crimes and marine mammal issues.
He brought his 3rd Gen iPod to me to have the battery in it replaced. The battery was $15 and labor was $40. Like many investigators I've done work for, he didn't want his photo published with his name but this is what the iPod looked like.
Fixed - Total cost $75.

Ernest Hecht called me from Short Hills, New Jersey.
Many people like the website, that it's written by me to them. He has a 4th Gen Black and White screen model and had decided to replace the battery in it himself. While doing this he tore off the logic board the battery plug receptacle right off the logic board. This part can't be re-soldered, it's 5 wire whiskers are too small to re-apply even with the finest soldering pencil. The only solution is to replace the logic board.
He sent his iPod in with a check for $60 to cover the replacement of the logic board.
The iPod works perfectly *and* he didn't loose one of his Hall and Oates songs;)
All of the music on the iPod's drive remained intact.
It was $20 for the logic board and $40 labor/return shipping.
Fixed - Total cost $60.
