Susan Kostel called me from San Francisco, California
where she lives and works. She has a Pink 1st Generation Mini iPod that was given to her as a gift but he battery time is
too short to make it useful.
She sent it in with a check for $50 ($10 battery and $40 labor/shipping). I replaced the battery and sent her ipod back the next day.
Fixed - Total cost..$50

Steve Anderson called me from Oakland, California.
The LCD on his 60GB original video iPod has been broken and he wants to make the hour and 15 minute drive to get it fixed today.
I say that's no problem "I'll see you when you get here".
In a while he arrives and get a chance to see the iPod. The LCd isn't broken it's basically smashed to bits and I wonder if the hard drive made it through the destruction.
He asks where an ATM is and leaves to fill up with cash while I go to work changing out the part.
Forty minutes later, I have the LCD replaced and have got his hard drive working again.
Here he is receiving it back again.
Fixed - Total cost $73.

Rick Rothbart is a student that lives 3 blocks from here in Santa Rosa.
He has taken his video iPod apart... well apart to "replace the battery" but has lost his way and is in the weeds when trying to put it back together again.
He emails me on the morning of Saturday January 25th 2008 to ask if I have time today to basically breathe life back into it.
I comment his description doesn't hint at the problem exactly, but bring it by with $40 and I'll do what I can for him today.
He arrives 30 minutes later with a handful of parts and hope.
We chat while I analyze and begin to assemble it back together again with his new battery. From the pile of parts I build it back again.
We talk about his Junior College classes for a bit and I am finished. It works.
Fixed - Total cost..$40.
