I got a call from Randy Shafer at his work in Vacaville California (95687)
about his iPhone 4. He had taken it with him duck hunting a day earlier and though it was in a water tight bag with him in the duck blind it still became water exposed.
This is one of those cases where the downside of something bad happeneing to your phone is so HIGH relative to the tiny upside of needing it out in the water that bringing it to the blind just doesn't make sense. You can't use the phone the way you would commonly with a loud and belting voice. There isn't any text message that is that urgent it won't wait and needing to summon help would wait until you are out of the shooting area... so there really is no reason while duck hunting not to leave your phone in the car.... only bad things can happen.
He sent the phone to me by UPS with 3 $20 bills and it got here the next day.... which was a Friday. I went through it and had it working again by the afternoon with all of his phone working again. All of his files were still safely on it.
Total cost $60
Fixed - Total cost $60.

Martin Guenther called me from Petaluma California (94928)
where he works at Calix Networksabut his iPhone 3G that had a failing battery. He caught my ads running on Craigslist which also outlined the proper way to charge the Lithium Ion battery that is in all current cordless devices, iPods, iPhone, iPads, digital cameras, power tools and laptops.

We set an appointment for him to come up the following Saturday. The entire replacement took 30 minutes and he left with basically a new phone since the useful time was so much longer. Total cost was $50.
Fixed - Total cost $50.
