Dominic Onate called me about "his" iPhone... you see it was actually his sister's white 16GB 3GS.
While she on "floatapoosa" on the Russian River for the 4th of July weekend, she allowed it to get water exposed.... Look, this was another one of those 'what were you thinking?" cases.
She had the phone for less than 7 weeks and brought it out with her river rafting... no in the river in a zip lock bag. Consider how many things can go wrong on a river water raft expedition for the day relative to "needing" your phone at any time for real.
Dominic brought me her phone, which she now given him 5 months after the incident. At first, after going through it I couldn't get it going... then slowly all the parts started to actually begin working...
The LCD in it was absolutely gone so that had to be replaced, but I got all aspects of the phone working again including WiFi and all of her files were still on it. Since the phone was still running 3.1.3 with a 5.11 baseband I jailborke it for him in my spare time.
The LCD was $60 and the labor was $60. A beautiful save for merely $120
Fixed - Total cost $120.
