Matthew and his brother Steve have clients of mine before.
They both use iPhones. Matthew has a new i4 that he got with his salary from Santa Rosa City Schools and Steve has a Black 3G. Matthew called me on a Friday to ask about whether I worked on Blackberry Curves. He was responding to a Craigslist Ad I had running that outlines iPhone and Blackberry Curve work I do.
The message he left came in late and I didn't get until the next morning. By that time he had also sent me an email.
He had a Blackberry 8330 that he intended to give to his sister Sierra. The 8330 had been assessed as having water damage by the local Radio Shack. It's specific problem is the phone's logic board wouldn't charge a battery in it. The battery recharge circuits had been damaged from water exposure.
Matthew and Steve brought it over to me and left it off with $60 so I could try my hand at it. About 6 hours later I had it working again completely. The detail shots show the battery recognized and being charged in the 8330.
This is Sierra giddy about having a real phone again.
Fixed - Total cost $60.
