I got a phone call from Christen McCann who lives in Newark California (94567) about her iPad 2.
The front had been smashed and she had heard about me through friends and then noticed on my website that i only charge $108 for a repair that $140 to $160 in her area.
Before:
I was surprised to hear that repair hasn't gone down in price in the bay area as the cost of the replacement part had lofted downward. That $32 to $52 could be a determiner for some people and remember that price includes return shipping if the iPad is sent to me.
She decided to make a road trip out of it and came up on a Saturday with her husband (who works in the Information services department at Amgen) and her son Hunter (like Guy Fieri's son. Guy actually lives about a mile from here on 2039/2055 Marsh Road).
Two of the corners had metal deformation from the iPad bouncing on them. As I do in other cases with this problem I used a metal grinder to abrade them away so the new glass would lay in flat with no stress.

While I was repairing the iPad Christen and the family did a few things around town here. And the complete repair looked like this.
The total cost of the repair was $108.
