Brian Cole lives in Sonoma California (95476) and stopped by with his daughter to get the screen replaced on iPod Touch 4th Gen.
She has an 8GB Touch that "had" a Black front. In a few cases now, I have been changing out the color for some people. The home key color remains the same but it gives the Touch a distinctive look.
The repair takes an hour and 10 minutes. When here is was finished it had the standard chrome backplate with a the tiny bezel the glass is seated in being black. The glass was white and Home key was Black. It *is* a striking look.
Before:
After... sick huh?
Total cost was $79
This story is a bit different from the usual although it's a fairly regular client who had sent an iPod Touch 4th Gen a few moths earlier.
I was sent an iPhone 4 by Shelly Schofield who lives in Chestertown Maryland along with a card that read,
"Hello Frank!
Here is an iPhone which was allegedly on the lap of my son who opened a car door while it was going about 30MPH and the phone fell out and hit the ground"
She had sent a photo of the phone and in it, the back looked like the only thing damaged but the docking module to charge the battery was also damaged and the ribbon connection from the battery was completely abraded away as it skidded down the road.
I was able to get all working again, *and* it looked presentable. The phone was in disabled mode because of the times her son had tried to make it work before mom sent it to me. When the phone got back home, they cabled it to iTunes and it became "his" again.
Total cost to get it back looking good and working perfectly was $102
