Angie Poole got a hold of me from Jena Louisiana (71342).
She is a previous client who came to me as a referral from someone else in her area. She lives in a remote area and put her iPhone 3GS through the washing machine and called me immediately. I gave her the instructions on how to send it in and it arrived Express Mail 3 days later... as I said she lives in a remote area.
This came in around Christmas 2010. I went through the phone and was able to get it to work again perfectly. And I was able to keep all of her files on it without restoring the iPhone. Even the BlueTooth and WiFi worked perfectly
The PLC had quite a bit of water trapped in the layers leaving it very cloudy so it was replaced.
That was a $45 part bringing the total cost of getting 16GB iPhone 3GS back working to $105

Mike Leggins called me one morning from Eureka California (95503) about his daughter's 3rd Gen iPod Touch.
He didn't know when he called that it was a 3rd Gen, we worked that together on the phone. I frequently guide the client through the process of determining what device and generation they having trouble with.
In the case his daughter had dropped the iPod and smashed the upper glass. It still worked but her self-esteem was a bit tarnished by not having an iPod that looked good.
Mike and I went to the same High School together. He was a year ahead of me, but brought his yearbook down so we could compare what we knew about various classmates. I'm not someone that goes to class reunions. The fact I have a great memory of the appearance and promise each of had in our youth that I don't want disturbed. We did reminisce for an hour os over a glass of wine.
This is a $64 repair through me, which includes parts, labor and return shipping. The repair takes about 40 minutes.
The total cost for this repair - $64
