Dianna Lynn Whigham called me from Tucson, Arizona.
She had a particular problem she wanted to try to solve. As a muscian she had a number of things in her iTunes library and *on* her iPod only. Windows I've mentioned I think of as the most frail operating system ever. It is my least preferred computer solution because every 20 to 28 months the Windows user suffers a major catastrophic failure that takes all your files, music photos word docs excel spreadsheets with no regard for work or personal with it along with your tuned version of the OS.
Dianna has one of these catastrophic failures and lost everything including her own recordings she had made using the Griffen iMic at live sessions.
Not to be too outdone, not long after her iPod stopped working. I determined on the phone her problem was the docking station she used. Her iPod would not turn on and whether I could get it to work again was a serious question.
Performing a Data extraction was critical and she had her fingers crossed as she sent her iPod in along with an additional external hard drive.
I moved her drive to another system and was able to perform the extraction. What you see in the photo is another ipod (not hers) I used to run the extraction.
It was a complete success and I sent her useless iPod and her external drive
with the files on it safely back to her. It was a $40 labor charge only for the work.
Fixed - Total cost $40.

Connie Crippen noticed my website and called
to help her with her daughter's 5th Gen video iPod which had a cracked LCD screen.
She sent it in from Central Point, Oregon and it arrived on September 18th 2008.
I had it repaired and on it's way back to her the next day. The LCD was $33 and
labor/return shipping was $40
Fixed - Total cost $73.

Greg Cahill found me on the internet and called me from Petaluma, California
where I grew up . His son had cracked the LCD screen on his 5th Gen video iPod.
Greg is a music reviewer for a number of periodicals. he favors bowed instruments personally but was bass player using a Vox Bass when he was younger. I also played bass and keys when younger and had a Black Rickenbacker 2001 (serial number #63). We both knew a couple of players in the area in common.
His son carries his fathers interest in music and fixing his iPod was important for appreciation of the arts.
It was done an hour after his father dropped it off. The LCD was $33 and labor was $40
Fixed - Total cost $73.
