Cathy Brook called from Windsor, California
about 6 miles having put her daughter's Nano 3rd Gen through the washer. Little did she know at that time she was speaking with someone that has become well known globally for fixing and sorting out water immersion/exposure cases.
She brought it by the next day and left it off with $40 which is my standard fee.
It had a failed LCD, but I was able to get working after I replaced the screen. Initially the battery didn't work and recharge but I discovered corrosion in the power supply area and was able to restore the device to full utility.
The LCD was $33 and labor was $40
Fixed - Total cost $73.

Rosalee Rogers called me from Brooklynn, New York
to discuss a problem she was having with her White 5th Generation video iPod. My final diagnosis was that she had over charged her battery a couple of times too many and she needed her battery replaced.
Her iPod was well out of warranty so I was a good candidate for replacing it. She sent it in.
The battery was $23 and the labor/return shipping was $40
Her iPod arrived and was sent back repaired the same day.
Fixed - Total cost $63.

Phil Kinman dropped his iPod in water 4 weeks earlier
but still thought there might be a chance of me being able to bring it back to life. Many people contact me in the hopes of finding a way to fix or throw out a water damaged iPod. If I can't make it work then they can in good conscience let it go.
Phil sent his from Vincennes, Indiana. It had one strong mechanical problem.. the hard drive wouldn't work and the battery needed to be replaced. However it was time to replace the battery anyway so that wasn't a real consequence of the water problem.
He sent in a check for $40 and once I had determined what was needed he sent the $23 for the and the $60 for the drive using PayPal.
Total cost to get his video iPod back working with a new battery, $123.
Fixed - Total cost $123.
