Malcolm Burt called me up from Huntsville, Alabama
a few months ago describing how he had lost hearing in one ear of his iPod. I mentioned it was the result of his dropping it with the earbuds plugged in and having the right side positive connection in the head phone jack break away so it would never make contact and deliver right side hearing.
The iPod actually arrived on May 5th 2008 and he called a few hours later to see if it had arrived.
I had the iPod finished that afternoon and it was on the way back to him the next morning. Total cost $75
Fixed - Total cost $75.

Mario Santos called me from Napa, California
around May 1st 2008. He went on to describe the problem he was having and it came down to he had overcharged his battery too many times.
He sent it in for a battery replacement and it arrived on May 6th. I replaced the battery, charged and tested things for him. It was sent back that same afternoon.
The battery was $23 and labor with return shipping was $40 for total of $63
Fixed - Total cost $63.

Laurie Dalbey called me from here in Santa Rosa
at her work. She said her "iPod just stopped working" which wasn't exactly the truth. It had merely stopped working recently as a result of setting it in a coffee that was partially filled by accident about a year earlier. What had stopped working was the scroll wheel and the compass point switches so she wasn't
She brought it by then revealed the coffee possibility, now her iPod was transferred to the 'WICU' (Water Immersion Care Unit) ward here for immediate triage. There was evidence of the Mocha in the battery and scroll wheel data connection areas.
Ultimately surgery was performed and the scroll wheel was replaced. Her battery was on life support so it was replaced since it was already here. She got the next day.
The day after she emailed saying, "Thank you for your great work on the ipod."
It was $15 for the battery, $20 for the scroll wheel and $40 labor for a total of $75
Fixed - Total cost $75.
