Ashley Aitken from Santa Rosa
called on Thursday June 12th to bring her iPod in to be examined. We spoke on the phone for a few minutes with her explaining she was going on the trip the next Tuesday and wanted to know if I could fix before then. We set something up for the next day. On Friday 13th of June she stopped by with her Mom on the way to go shopping in Marin County. On the phone I had come to believe she had a blown logic board, which is a $90 part.
As it turns out the problem was with the hard drive. I put in a replacement for her and got it working by the end of the day.
Her father came by and picked it for her at 10am the next day... well she was in his truck still in her pajamas as he described it.
It was $60 for the drive and $40 labor
Fixed - Total cost $100.

Kerry Selman sent her Nano iPod first generation in from Mc Alester, Oklahoma
to have the LCD replaced.
It arrived on April 24th 2008 with a check for $66 and I had it repaired and sent back the same day.
Fixed - Total cost $66.

Larry Silva sent his 5th Generation video iPod in from Clovis, California.
He described having scroll wheel problems which to me are almost always a product of water based corrosion on the front side of the logic board.
He also had made his own attempt to correct the problem and replace the battery.
It arrived with a check for $40 for me to analyze, cleaning up the logic board did not yield a working system so it had to be replaced and he used PayPal to send in the needed $90.
Total cost to get his wife Lana a working iPod was $130
Fixed - Total cost $130.
