Ashley Mucha lives here in Santa Rosa
and works at a place that I shop at for plumbing PACE Supply. She had spilled water on her Nano 3rd Gen. She sent me an email explaining what had happened.
"About a month ago a little water had spilt on my ipod but I was able to recover it and the backlight (on the LCD) stopped working, but the ipod still worked great. Well this morning when I went to use it, the ipod just stopped working all together. It wont turn on. I am hoping you could Fix it. "
She dropped it by later that day and I was able to get it working again... EXCEPT the backlight for the LCD. I actually replaced the LCD and a new wouldn't work either so the logic board or the LCD connector was damaged in some permanent way I couldn't see.
She paid $40 for me to bring to that working state but cheaper than a new one!
Her response was, "Yahoo** Thank You Thank You**"
Fixed - Total cost $40.

I am a well regarded poker player and I have a challenging live game I play at on Wednesday.
One of the people I play with is Drew Henderson. Drew in his youth sometimes drops his iPod *plus* he used big Koss headphones which put additional stress on the headphone jack so I wasn't surprised when he texted me wondering if I had the time one day to do an emergency headphone jack replacement.
As you can tell Drew listens to hip Hop and needs a BIG BASS sound. He stopped by, left it off and came back later that afternoon. While it was here I also enhanced his Hip Hop collection.
The headphone jack part was $28 and labor was $40. The next game.... he did better than me.
Fixed - Total cost $68.
