Errin Petty lives in nearby Sebastopol
and called because he smashed the LCD screen on his 5th Gen video iPod and needed it replaced before he left town on a trip. I went through the pricing and time involved in the repair and he said he would stop by "sometime in the next 3 hours". If you knew him you would know, time is a fluid concept for Errin.
He stopped by later and left the iPod off. I had it ready for him to pick up a little over an hour later.
The LCD was $33 and labor was $40
Fixed - Total cost $73.

Morgan Yeager lives in Windsor, California
and her Pink 16GB Nano 4th Gen iPod ($200) was put through the washing machine *and* dryer by her boyfriend that was thoughtfully doing their laundry without being told ;)
He had seen my sign near the "iSick Bay World Headquarters" weeks earlier and gave me a call. What he didn't know is he had found the right guy on earth to help him and that guy was local ;)
He and Morgan brought it by and left it off on a Monday around noon. I worked through the evening and had it working perfectly about 8PM.
The total cost to get her iPod back on it's feet and working was $40
Fixed - Total cost $40.

Maas Anderson lives here in Santa Rosa
and teaches 5th Grade at the J.X. Wilson School. He sent me an email that read,
"Hello Frank,
I have taken some time to read your website and think you are the man to repair my iPod. My wife went jogging with it in the rain, and now the screen won't turn on. I backed up all the music and tried "restarting" it with the Menu + Select button many times. It gives me a small chime sound and appears in the iTunes folder, but nothing lights up-making it impossible to use. My wife claims she "never got it wet", but I am suspect. Also, my wife has a very high electromagnetic field, I believe, and she shorts out computers and WiFi hot spots all the time. Also, I bought the Silver Nano 3rd Generation from a college student off craigslist about a year ago. Can you help me? I have Monday off tomorrow(my wife and I are teachers in Santa Rosa), and would love to bring it by if possible.
Thanks!
Maas"
He brought his wife Rochelle's Silver Nano 3rd Gen by the next day. It did have water damage and I thought it might need a new LCD. There was fairly serious corrosion on the LCD ribbon connection and jack but not a lot anywhere else. I was able to clean the contacts and make the LCD work again.
In despair, Maas had seriously been contemplating merely buying another one, but was unbelievably pleased
I was able to get it working and it cost just $40.
Fixed - Total cost $40.
