Chris Fiero called me from here in Santa Rosa, California about his son's 5th Gen video iPod
that didn't have hearing at all. It started with left no right side and then went onto none at all. The classic result of dropping the iPod with the earbuds plugged in and having the plug driven too far into the jack destroying the right side hearing.
He brought it over and went to kids from school. By the time he had gotten them, I basically had it repaired. The part was $28 and labor was $40
This is his son who came back to check it out. He's listening to the Who' %:15 from Quadraphenia.
Fixed - Total cost $68.

Amy Haas lives in Aromas, California and dropped her iPod Nano 3rd Gen in water.
Several weeks had elapsed by the time the iPod arrived here so the chances of success were dicey.
After working at it a while I got it all to work again. It needed a new LCD screen but all of her files were still safely on it.
The LCD was $22 and labor/return shipping was $40
Fixed - Total cost $62.

This story will tell the depth I go to get an iPod working again ;)
Michael Cichon lives in Hillsborough, New Jersey and called me to make sure I was for real and could do the job.... fixing his 6th Gen 120 GB iPod that he had dropped in the toilet.
It arrived a few days later with a note that read,
"Dropped in toilet. Bowl was not clean nor was it terribly dirty (small fecal matter). I was able to snatch it out of the water seconds later."
After a day or so I was able to get it all working again. There was a corrosion problem with the battery recharge circuits on the logic board and it needed a new battery but everything else was perfect and his files were still safely on the device.
The battery was $19 and labor/return was $40, so for $59 he got back his $250 iPod working perfectly again in spite of the circumstances.
Fixed - Total cost $59.
