Kyle Phillips lives nearby, just a few blocks away down the street here in Santa Rosa, California.
He did something I haven't seen so far and smashed the upper glass on his iPod Nano 4th Gen. That part is actually made of glass not plastic as it has been in the past.
The part was $15 and labor was $40
Fixed - Total cost $55.

Brent Lee sent in his 32GB iPod Touch 2nd Gen from San Francisco, California.
On the 4th of July he had been pushed into a swimming pool and needed my help. He tried to make it work again, but it would never move past the Apple on the Black background screen.
He had put the iPod in a bag of rice for several days, and as usual that didn't make a positive effect.
I disassembled it and worked my way through the device, I was able to get it working aagain perfectly, but it required a replacement LCD ($43) and battery $19
All of his files were safe. Notice in photo 2 the WiFi connectivity works perfectly. For $122 he got his iPod back in working order.
Fixed - Total cost $122.

I got a phone call from Carol Johnson, who lives in Towson, Maryland
near Baltimore about her 16GB iPod Touch 2nd Gen. She had dropped it in the toilet and found me on the internet as the 'ipod dropped in water guy'. We discussed the process and it arrived by UPS a few days later. I try to discourage people from sending things here by UPS. My driver treats deliveries very badly. He pulls up and stops at a red zone in front of a fire hydrant and throws the package over the porch railing hoping that the package hitting my door will announce it's arrival and then drives off. Do not send packages to me using UPS if you can help it.
I got Carol's Touch apart and went through the device. I was able to get it all working again (even the WiFi) but it required a new LCD because there was 'water' trapped between the layers. Notice the WiFi connection is working in the last photo.
The LCD was $43 and labor/return shipping was $60
Fixed - Total cost $103.
