Kevin Oellien called me from Overland Park, Kansas.
He found out about me through the Angie's List article and was kind enough to send me a copy of the print magazine. He has a 6th Gen video iPod with a failed 80GB drive in it. Well to be honest, I think it's his son's.
They wanted the drive capacity hiked to 120GB in the replacement. The drive was $120 and labor/return shipping was $40
Works perfect, should hold things together for his for quite a while.
Fixed - Total cost $160.

I got an email from Aimee Smith or Carthage, Missouri that read,
"I have an Ipod classic that needs repair. On Friday night my daughter was pushed into a swimming pool with the Ipod in her pocket. have I waited too long? Or is it probably still repairable? I am located in Missouri, and $40 to fix this thing sounds a whole lot better than $250 to buy her a new one!
Thanks in advance,
Aimee Smith"
I sent her back specifics on how to get it to me and it arrived a few days later. I was able to get it all working again perfectly but it required a replacement LCD and battery but all of Ariel's 155 songs and 37 videos remained safe.
The LCD was $33, the battery was $19 and labor/return shipping was $40 so it was $92 to get he iPod back working perfectly again.
Fixed - Total cost $92.

Mai Weston sent me her 6th Gen 120GB video iPod from San Diego, California.
She's a repeat customer and sent me her last iPod in April to help her when a water bottle opened in her purse. In that case, I couldn't make a difference.
This time someone in her family, opened the iPod up kind of brutally to get the water out. I was able to get it all put back together and make it work, but it needed a new logic board because the force of opening the iPod damaged the logic board.
The replacement board was $100 and labor/return shipping was $40 just over half the price of a new iPod.
Fixed - Total cost $140.
