Jill Raymond emailed me from Napa, California about her 6th Gen video iPod
that had a cracked LCD. I never heard how it became broken, but she was in a hurry because she would be on vacation in a couple of days and definitely wanted her iPod with her and working. Her husband Mike works at the Coddingtown mall abut 3 blocks from here twice a week as a retail store manager for a sporting goods store so she had him bring it by at his lunch time.
I had it ready for him to take home when he got off work. The LCD was $33 and labor was $40, works perfectly now.
Fixed - Total cost $73.

Mark lives in Vallejo, California
and commutes an hour each way five days a week. He works for the Post Office at the nearby Annex and is an "03" (oh-three, zip code) delivery person.
His iPod Touch 1st Gen battery wasn't holding a charge. He was surprised to find someone nearby in the Bay Area that did this type of work, but shocked to find out he works about 5 blocks away.
He brought it by on the way home from work one day and picked it up after I desoldered the old battery out and resoldered a new one in.
The battery was $19 and labor was $60, so for $79 he got Touch back working as strong portable player again.
Fixed - Total cost $79.

Sally Lambert lives in Sebastopol, California
a few miles west of here. Her son dropped his Red Nano 3rd Gen iPod in a glass of Coke and then relied on a friend to "fix it". The friend laid claim to changing the battery "and making it work again" but that was a crock and the fix was short lived.
I pointed out a chore changing the battery is in a Nano 3rd Gen and finally the friend came clean and admitted he merely plugged into his computer and ti seemed to work. And so it did for a short time.
She found me on the internet, and arranged a time to drop it off. I took the device apart and it was semi-dried sticky Coca Cola through out. I cleaned up all the damage and it put it back together again. It worked perfectly
Total cost to get Darius's iPod back working was $40
Fixed - Total cost $40.
