Elizabeth Barboza called me from Mansfield, Texas
about her son Andrew's 4th Generation iPod Nano. I covered the things I needed about the iPod and it being sent in. It arrived a few days later with a letter that read,
"He left it in his jeans pocket and it was washed (but not dried). Please let us know if it can be repaired. Andrew is hopeful since he is the one responsible for replacing it.
Thank you
Elizabeth Barboza"
I took it completely apart and began to work through it, dealing with the water damage. This was a case where I had to replace the LCD screen, because the iPod had enough of a charge when it became water immersed that the backlight's positive electrical connection was corroded away. But I got it working again perfectly and all of his songs were safe.
The LCD was $33 and labor/return shipping was $40 so it was a total os $73
A few days later, I got this message back from Andrew.
"THANK YOU!!!!!!
Dear Mr. Walburg,
Thank you SOOOOO much for fixing my ipod! Haha it was good timing coming back I am just about to leave for a friends for 5 days and I just got it so again thank you so much I really appreciate it. THank you thank you thank you!!!!!!
Sincerely, Andrew"
Fixed - Total cost $73.

Josh Duran is a previous customer. He lives in Bryan, Ohio
and called me to discuss his 5th Generation video iPod's problem which was hearing in the Left ear only. I've fixed this many times and explained what the cause of it was. I also suggested that it was time for a new battery.
It arrived 3 days later with %$87 in cash, (previous customer, he trusts me) and I had it repaired and on the way back to him that same day. The headphone jack/hold-lock switch was $28, the battery was $19 and labor/return shipping was $40.
All of his and videos stayed safely on the device, total cost $87
Fixed - Total cost $87.

I got an email from Tong Xiong in Sacramento, California
about his daughter's 2nd Generation iPod Touch. It read,
"Hey Frank, my daughter dropped her ipod touch 2nd gen in the pool. The ipod still power up but not functioning (does not respond to touch). How much is the cost to repair and how do I send it to you? I live in Sacramento, CA. My name is Tong. Thanks "
I sent back instructions on how to get it to me, and it arrived a few days later on a Friday. By late Saturday I had it working again perfectly including the WiFi connection. But it required replacing the upper glass and digitizer which is a $52 part.
I sent him this message,
"Tong,
The iPod arrived and I have been able to get Susan's Touch to work again. The upper glass and digitizer had to replaced. This is the piece that interprets finger movement and tapping.
That part is $52
I'll send a PayPal request for the $52, cover that and I can have it on the way back fixed tomorrow.
Frank"
and I got the PayPal'd in funds later that afternoon. On Monday it was on the way back to Susan
Notice n the detail shots, the WiFi connection is working perfectly. Total $112
Fixed - Total cost $112.
