I got a call from Sherry Goughenour about her husband Glenn's 4th Gen iPod Nano.
Glenn and Sherry live i North Huntington, Pennsylvania and he dropped his iPod smashing the upper glass on the Nano. She wanted to know what it would cost to repair and how to go about it.
The upper glass for a 4th Gen Nano is $15 and labor/return shipping is $40 and I sent her email the details of how to send it in.
It arrived a few days later and I had the repair done the same day it arrived. Total cost $55
Fixed - Total cost $55.

Angela Boley sent me an email from Reynoldsburg, Ohio about her iPods that read,
"I have 2 I-pods that need repairs. One is a 2003 model year I-pod (it might even be older) that has a very good drive in it (10GB). I replaced the battery and while it was apart, the little metal wire ribbon that allows sound to reach the headphones broke, it also will not charge any more. The 2nd Ipod is a IPOD NANO with 8GB about 2 years old and the wheel doesn't respond to any commands. I've tried software updating, I've tried reseting to factory original settings and the wheel will still not respond. It is as if the Ipod has hardware problem. I read about you in Angie's list here in Ohio. My name is Angela Boley. I would appreciate your help, thank you. "
In the course of emails back and forth I came to realize she had a Nano 4th Gen and she responded with,
"I am sure it is a 4th generation Nano. Unfortunately someone sprayed me with a hose while I was listening to it and it got wet. It had been working well for months afterwards so I thought nothing of it."
I also explained there were no spare parts that would make her 10GB model work again.
She sent it in the Nano with a check for $40. Two days later I had it working again perfectly with no replacement parts needed.
Total cost to get her iPod back working perfectly again $40
Fixed - Total cost $40.
