I got a call from Melissa Rothering-Edmond.
She lives in Duluth Minnesota (55811) and did the thing I hear most. Her son had his Touch 2nd Gen in his pocket, in his sweatpants. She put them in the washing machine with a load of clothes.
I got it in the mail a few days later. Two days after it arrived here I had it working again perfectly. All of the files were still safely on it and the WiFi worked correctly.
I let Melissa know the result and got this message back.
"Frank,
WOW! I am so grateful to you! You are a lifesaver!!!!!!
Thank you so much melissa"
Total cost to get her son's Touch back working again was $60
Fixed - Total cost $60.

I got a call from Steve Hopkin one day.
He lives here in Santa Rosa California (95401) and is part of a pair of identical twins. The upper glass on his iPhone 3G was smashed and he needed it replaced. He rode his bicycle over and left it off. An hour later he and his brother Matthew showed up to pick it up. Yes they dress similarly too.
The iPhone works perfectly.
Fixed - Total cost $60.
