I got a call from Tim Burridge well actually his young daughter one night.
They live in Casper Wyoming (82601). She dropped her 32GB 3rd gen iPod Touch in the bath tub several weeks before I got the phone call. After that the screen went all 'haywire'. And apparently she called Tim at his office crying and telling him to hurry home "it's an emergency"....
I had their iPod here for 3 days and was able to get it all working again... including the WiFi connectivity. I did have to replace the 'haywire' LCD. The part was $45 and labor/return shipping was $60
Fixed - Total cost $105.

Samantha Hineline called me and emailed me when they found that I can frequently repair water immersed iPods.
They live in Boerne Texas (78015). I responded to the email and was sending it just as she called in on the phone. The story was their son Harrison had left his 16Gb 2nd Gen iPod Touch out in the rain.
It got here three days later. I needed it for just 2 days and had it all working perfectly again. Notice we have perfect WiFi connectivity.
I didn't need to replace anything. The total charge was $60
Fixed - Total cost $60.
