Okay this another one of those expensive ones....
I got a call from Jon Beival about his 64GB iPod Touch 3rd Gen, yes another $500 device. Jon lives in Cummings Georgia (30041) In his case it was dropped in the dog's water bowl and that had happened 3 weeks before the phone call. He sent it on the 15th of the month and I got it 2 days later.
This is another instance where I had to replace the LCd screen. This is chiefly a consequence of how well charged the battery was at time of immersion. The greater the charge, the more likely the LCD's backlight is to fail.
The replacement LCD was $45 and labor/return shipping was $60
Fixed - Total cost $105.

Otis Gallagher called me from Larkspur California (94939) about his Nano 5th Gen.
The iPod had been put through the washer and dryer and hadn't worked properly since. We arranged for him to send it up and then for him to come by and pick it up when I had a disposition for his case.
His Nano was here 2 days before I had it all working again. But I got it working beautifully. I didn't need to replace anything so the total cost to get his 16GB 5th Gen back in full operation was $40
Fixed - Total cost $40.
