This one is an iPhone water case. I think I was called before it arrived.
Brad Thompson lives in San Mateo California (94403) and has taken to listening to the radio while in the shower... using NPR data feed radio off of his iPhone 3G.
For some time he's done this and he actually keeps the iPhone in a double zip locked bags... but that isn't perfect and you had to know someday there would be a problem.... and here I am the solution.
He tried a couple of things and sent it to me dead.
This was more complex than typical and required more things to be replaced than is typical. I was able to get his iPhone back in working order but it needed to have the bezel/mid-chassis replaced because the Home key electronics were shot, that meant the upper glass/digitizer had to be replaced and in Brad's case the LCD back light wouldn't work so the LCD had to be replaced.
The LCD was $30, the upper glass was $15, the bezel with Home electronics was $40 and labor was $60. It was more typical but waay below the cost of new iPhone.
Fixed - Total cost $145.

I got a call from from Richard Stone who lives in San Francisco California (94110)
and was having a set of problems with his 60GB 5th Gen video iPod. He had cracked the LCd screen and maybe at the same time, had trashed his headphone jack. It was a standard repair, with the iPod arriving in the morning and me finishing and send it back out later that afternoon.
The LCD was $23, the headphone jack was $28 and labor/return shipping was $40
Fixed - Total cost $91.
