Maureen Winowiecki lives in Fraser Michigan (48026) and emailed one day.
The message read,
"Hi Frank,
I got your contact information from a satisfied customer off of the Apple website. We bought our 3 boys an ipod touch for Christmas. Within 6 weeks two of them (yes 2) are damaged to no fault of the boys. The first was damaged by my four year old daughter who spilled a water bottle on her brothers ipod. The second one I washed and dried - full cycle!
I'm hoping you can help. Please reply and let me know your repair process.
Thanks - Maureen'
I replied with 'send it in instructions' and they arrived a few days later. The one that had been six weeks since water exposure... I couldn't save. I implore people find and get a hold of me right away. In the case of a water immersed iPod... things get really dicey and less probable to repair after 3 1/2 weeks.
The second one belonged to their son Jordon, this is the one that went through the washing machine and recently. This I was able to get working completely. All of Jordaon's files were still safely on it. It had a perfect LCD, digitizer, battery and battery recharge circuits worked perfectly. Notice the WiFi connection works.
Perfect Touch again, total cost $60
Fixed - Total cost $60.

Cory McGilton lives in East Lansing Michigan (48823).
He dropped his 32GB iPod Touch 2nd Gen in a clean toilet. This is an expensive device and he actually uses nearly all of that memory so he really wanted it back working again. He is also a Verizon cell phone subscriber and wanted to wait until Verizon had iPhones for their CDMA network later in 2010 when the AT&T contract for exclusivity sales of Apple/iPhone in the US.
It arrived 4 days water it 'got thirsty'. I had it for another four days going through it and was able to get it all going again. The files were safe, the WiFi worked all of it.
No parts were replaced the total cost was $60
Fixed - Total cost $60.
