Tyler Maus lives in Prescott Valley Arizona (86314) and sent his brand new 32GB iPod Touch 3rd gen
to me with a letter that read,
"Dear Frank,
I found your website and was wondering if you would be able to fix my iPod. What happened was I left it in my jacket pocket and my mother asked me if she could wash my jacket. Unknowingly I had left it in my jacket pocket and it went through the wash. It didn't go through a full cycle. I realized my iPod was missing 10 minutes after the wash started. My mother looked and fished it out of the machine and about another 10 minutes of looking and we found it.... soaked. There was water underneath the screen and it was just leaking water everywhere. I thought there was nothing I could except save up for another and then I found your website."
I was able to get Tyler's iPod working again but I did have to replace the LCD screen. The part was $41 and labor/return shipping was $60. It works perfectly now even the WiFi connectivity. His $500 iPod came back to him for just $101
Fixed - Total cost $101.

Koni Howell lives in Fremont California (49412) in the South east part of the Bay Area.
She sent me an email that read,
"Hello,
I found your website through a Yahoo link, our daughter cracked the glass on her 8gb IPod touch so I found a repair kit on ebay. I consider myself a pretty handy person so figured it was worth a try. I have it apart and cannot figure out if I ordered the wrong parts or if I broke something trying to get the case apart because I am at a dead end. Not to mention I do not have the right tools.
I am interested in sending you her Touch for repair, my question is should I mail the broken stuff AND the new parts I have for you to use?
Thank you - KONI HOWELL"
So... this was a will you "repair my repair" case. I told her to send it with $60 and I would work through it. The package arrived a couple of days later and I realized two thing... she had bought the wrong thing on eBay... the other was that she destroyed any useful aspect of the one they had. She had left no way to go back in her repair work.
I worked my way through the repair and was able to get everything back looking perfect again.
Got this from here a couple of days later, "Received on Fri 2/12 - in great shape! THANKS!"
Fixed - Total cost $79.
