Dan Blazek sent me and email about his Nano 3rd Gen from Elkgrove Village Illinois (66216).
The message read,

"Hey, how are you doing? I'm writing this because my Sunday night was ruined due to me being an idiot and forgetting that my ipod was in my khaki's from work when i put it in the laundry pile. I ALWAYS check my pockets before, but the one time i didn't screwed me over :/ My Ipod (i think 2nd generation nano - its the square one with video) went through both a wash and dryer cycle on Sunday evening. Out of pure anger I pressed the wheel a lot to see if it would start, and obviously did not. After a little bit me and my dad both went online to look for possible solutions. I found that not pressing any buttons is better, since it does not risk short circuiting w/e is inside and that the homeade methods (like rise moisture absorbing) isn't exactly the best way to go. I eventually found your site and after a little bit of searching I think that you are legit and very good at what you do. I would like your opinion as to if you believe it's even fixable (although it sounds like a common thing you fix). If you can, then I believe I'd be willing to send it in with the $40, since you are prolly the most cost-effective method out there and i feel horrible about letting an expensive item go to waste like that. Also i have not done anything to try to endanger it more since. It has just been sitting in the open on my dresser and is still in one perfect-ish piece.
Thanks in advance
(Can't tell if the email is a little too wordy lol)""

I had him send it in and I was able to get all working again perfectly. The total cost for him was the $40 labor/return shipping fee.

Fixed - Total cost $40.

Cathy Ford emailed me from Allison Park Pennsylvania (15101) about her son's mobile phone.
The message read,

"Hi,

My son dropped his brand new Samsung Behold in a hot tub. Is this something you may be able to fix?

He is only able to text on the phone. He can make calls out but no one can hear him talking and when I call him he can not answer the phone. I guess that button doesn't work and some of the others quit working also. I have no clue if the camera is still working. The screen quality is not real clear but touching (if that is what it is referred to since it is a touch screen) still works. It has been sitting in a bag of rice for 18 hours and hasn't improved. I wasn't sure if you work on Samsung phones. I really can't afford to pay another $400 for a phone but he has enough of his own money to get it fixed.

I appreciate any help you can provide.

Thanks,

Cathy F. Ford"

I explained the needed it sent in with four things. I need the phone, $60 for my labor rate, and to test it I need it's charge, and the SIM that was in it. I always work through a phone the same day it arrives so there is minimal time here. Phones are moved to the head of the line.

I had it working perfectly by the next afternoon. These are shots of the phone taken apart as I worked through it. When I had back working again, I called Cathy and let her know it was working perfectly using her son's now working phone.

Total cost to their Samsung Behold back working again perfectly was $60

Fixed - Total cost $60.
