Debra Oliver called me from Shoreline Washington (98133) at the end of January.
She had knocked her 160GB 6th Gen video iPod in her bathtub one night. She tried all the rice trick, which is largely in-effective. Then she found and called me.

This model I am able to make work 14 out 15 times. It arrived completely dead, and I went through it putting things right. By the time was finished I had it all working again. A sticking point was the battery and it's ability to hold a charge. It had to be replaced and that was a $23 part.

In the end her $380 iPod was fully restored and all her files were still safely on it. It was $40 laobr/return shipping and $23 for the battery.

Fixed - Total cost $63.

Vanessa Flores lives in San Antonio Texas (78254).
She had accidentally dropped her 16GB 2nd gen iPod Touch in water and it wasn't working. We discussed the method for sending it in and it arrived a few days later.

I suspect when the incident occurred was well, well before I got the phone call. This was a case where there an unusual number of things wrong with it. I was able to get it working again completely but it meant replacing the LCD screen because no data would paint to it, the volume switch wire harness, *and* the battery wouldn't carry a charge.

The parts were $80 and labor/return shipping was $60 so to get her $300 iPod back with her files on it, PLUS working WiFi connectivity was $140

Fixed - Total cost $140.
