Carol Marshall called me while on the road. She lives in Iowa City Iowa (52240)
and works for Medtronic. She had dropped her iPod Touch 8GB 2nd Gen into water while using the treadmill at her hotel. She went back up to her room and used the internet to find me. I think it started with a phone call, but intended with her sending it via Fed Ex to me.
I had it here for a two days and got it working again completely, battery , battery recharging, WiFi display and all of her files safely on it still. No additional parts were required.
The total cost for here was $60 which included return shipping.
Fixed - Total cost $60.

Jim Broyhill lives in Richmond Virginia (23221) and sent me an email that read,
"Hello,
I recently damaged my ipod touch 2G by having it fall in a glass of tap water where it sat half submerged for about a half hour. I let it dry for several days in a container of rice before attempting to turn it on. When I powered it up, the screen turns on and stays all white, but nothing else happens. Do you think that this device might be salvageable? How do I schedule an evaluation/repair?
Thanks
Jim Broyhill"
I had him send it in with $60, well actually he used PayPal to send the $60 in. It arrived a few days later and after 2 days I had it working again. It did require replacing the LCD screen because his had a white display only with no data painting to it.
The LCD was $41 and labor return shipping was $60. Works perfectly... battery, recharge WiFi all of it.
Fixed - Total cost $101.
