Lea Ann Morrison sent her 3rd Gen Nano to me from Seattle Washington (98117)
to have the LCD replaced. This is a pretty common repair. The LCD was $22 and labor/return shipping was $40.
Fixed - Total cost $62.

Dana Basiliades lives just west of here In Occidental California (95465).
I think that part of Sonoma County is too wet to live in... but some people think rain is better than snow at least. He brought a 120GB 6th Gen video ipod that had been given to him in to have me take a look at it.
It didn't work and had been given to because it didn't so it was a mystery to him as to what the problem was.
I tore it down tested my way through things and found it was a failed logic board. Once that was replaced everything else worked.
The replacement was $80 and labor was $40. He got back his iPod working perfectly for half the $250 it cost new 3 months earlier.
Fixed - Total cost $120.

Luana Vogelsang lives in Long Beach California (90803) and called me about her 2nd Gen iPod Touch.
I was less than a month old and it fell into a basin of water with epsom salts while she was getting a pedicure. She had immediately grabbed it out of the water band then turned it on to see if worked. Like many she thinks turning it on makes a material difference in the outcome of the case. It doesn't. The false presumption people make is "they are turning on wet electronic equipment" as though it is getting power from an out let. Since the iPod uses it own battery power, once water is in the device, it's shorted "On".
She actually tried the rice thing with no success and then found me. It got here a few days later. I went through and was able to get all aspects, battery recharge circuits, battery, LCD and even the WiFi working.
No parts needed to be replaced, total cost $60
Fixed - Total cost $60.
