Sean Garry called me from Mason Ohio (45040) where he lives.
On New Years day 2010 his son's New for Christmas 8GB Nano 5th Gen was dropped in their dog's water bowl. We went through the process of sending it in and it arrived a week later.
It was completely dead on arrival but slowly I was able to get things working on it again and now it works perfectly once more. It required a replacement LCD screen and that part was $33.
For $73 they Christmas back on the rails.
Fixed - Total cost $73.

Jeff House called me from Spring Hill Florida (34610) about his iPod.
He has a near new 5th gen Nano that he un-wisely bought on eBay. I remind people continually sellers on eBay frequently sell non-working iPods as "new" or "works perfecto". They then say the delivery service broke the device and rely on you to be among the 50% of people that don't return things.
In Jeff's case, his wasn't working and he noticed water indicator had changed and the iPod didn't work. He sent it to me.
I took it all apart and was able to get everything working except the LCD screen. It was a white out screen, with no data paint and had to be replaced.
The part was $33 and labor/return shipping was $40
Works perfect and I like the new emerald Green color.
Fixed - Total cost $73.

Corey Nelson lives in Maple Grove Minnesota (95311).
He refers to himself as "Nelly" probably after the Hip Hop artist. He called me on a Sunday night and had been out ice fishing earlier in the day. While fishing he had his BRAND NEW 3rd Gen 32 GB Touch, yes a $450 iPod Touch. While fishing it fell off his leg anto the water. It wasn't there long but enough to make it stop working. He sent it in with $60 and the hope I could get it back to health.
It took 4 days but I was able to get all aspects working again, and his files were still safely still on the iPod. I did have to replace the On-Off/Volume wire harness because the switches wouldn't work. That part was $25. With it installed everything again perfectly, notice the WiFi connection is intact.
Total cost to get his $450 back to health was $85.
Fixed - Total cost $85.
